Be a hero! Cut your customer's heating bills
If you can spec & install a furnace and split-system AC... ...you can spec and install a dual fuel system to help your customers cut their heating bills. It's THAT easy--and it works with ANYTempstar furnace. Follow the links below to learn more:
Note: Projections of energy cost savings with a dual fuel system cannot be guaranteed because they are dependent upon a number of factors which may vary from one situation to another and are beyond the control of product manufacturers, distributors and installing dealers. These factors include thermostat temperature settings, lifestyle changes, and degree day variations from one period to another.
How Dual Fuel Cuts Energy Costs.
A dual fuel system follows the line of lowest cost. It heats a home with an electric heat pump while outdoor temperatures are within the range where the heat pump performs well. When temperatures fall below that range, the system switches to a gas or oil furnace to give the homeowner the more efficient choice for every outdoor condition. In the chart above, red bars represent the relative cost of heating with a heat pump, while blue bars show the cost of using a gas furnace.
To find out, click here to go to the HVAC Equipment Cost Calculator. Read the instructions on the opening screen, then go to the "Dual Fuel" tab to evaluate energy costs and heating loads in your area. This calculator cannot estimate how much a homeowner can save with dual fuel, but it can give you a good idea if dual fuel can make a significant difference in your customers' heating costs.
2. Choose ANY Tempstar split-system heat pump model family. Size the heat pump according to the home cooling load in the normal way. Confirm that the furnace's cooling airflow performance is compatible with the heat pump in cooling mode.
